Basílica de la Sagrada Família

This is the original of La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona’s art nouveau castle in the clouds. If you’ve ever been to Barcelona, you’ve seen this Basilica. You can’t really escape the sheer scale of this beast. It’s a wonder.

If you’ve been to my house, you’ve seen this Impressionist take on the basilica hanging on the wall. When I painted it in 2021, I wanted it to look more approachable than the actual structure, making it look like it’s part of the sky, residing amongst the clouds. Purple and some orange are incorporated in the undertones giving the piece a clever  complementary color tension. There’s a little squiggle of purple in the top right and it brought me a smile every time I looked at it for 4 years. I now want to share that joy and put it for sale. 

It always receives compliments and I would say it looks good everywhere.
