Saint Isisdore the Farmer Impression
Saint Isisdore the Farmer Impression
Monet’s impressions have a grip on my soul and I always enjoy replicating his technique. Here we have Saint Isisdore the Farmer, an 11th century Spanish farmer who claims many beautiful legends and miracles by his love of God. An angel ploughing fields for him, angels dancing in the sky as he worked the land have brush strokes in this impression while a prayerful Isisdore gazes to the heavens. I included a simple farm house as well, as a nod to all the hungry people he brought into his home to feed, and a great miracle plays out in a story where his wife’s pot of soup multiplied one day to feed all the hungry farmers even though she didn’t make enough.
Enjoy the delicate impression!
