Here is beautiful typology and fulfillment of Exodus 16(the manna and quail) where God sends His Son to us. He is everything we need for now and our ultimate salvation, He is the Bread of Life. We can still ask that question, do we trust God gives us what we need? He does.

Of course he does.

It’s a matter of us stepping out in faith to see what this Living Bread, Jesus, has for us. Daily. It’s okay if it’s hard fought. It’s okay if this trust takes time. But He is always there.

In the painting we see a simple nativity scene, Mary holding baby Jesus with a cascade of gold shining directly upon Him. The gold is from the star that appeared above Bethlehem (Bethlehem means House of Bread). I could not help myself; I wanted the star to look a bit like the Eucharist to further illustrate point. I have some blues and dainty roses and a token angel floating up by the star. With the limited number of living figures in the painting my focus is that you might image yourself as Mary or as someone in the scene. What if Mary gave you Jesus to hold? What if you could feel His little heartbeat?

He comes to us in humility. He is our hope. He is our Bread. He is our way to Life.
