I started this one as part of a two painting collection called “the bread come down” ( I will share the other painting soon) , a meditation on how God gives us exactly what we need. We fill our baskets maybe with a lot of or a little but it ends up being perfect. The act of faith is trusting that He gives us what we need.
We see a very pregnant Israelite woman holding her womb and carrying a basket of manna. There is a dusting of manna at her feet, a gorgeous billowy sun, and a couple well placed quails add more living subjects to the painting, but my reflection is on this woman. We can put ourself in her shoes. Do we trust as we collect the “manna” God had provided in our life, that it will be enough; exactly what we need?

“the one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little. Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed.“ Exodus 16:18
This one has tons of paint finish contrast, some matte, some ultra shine, some foil. Each stroke was a prayer of mine and act of further placing my heart in His care.
